As the event approaches, we will update the website with details of qualifying teams. The number of rounds to be played and the timing for the rounds will depend on the number of teams nominated by each state but – based on the most common scenario – the playing schedule is expected to be –

Monday 11 December 2006	Opening Ceremony 9.30am Rounds at 10am, 1pm & 4pm
Tuesday 12 December 2006	Rounds at 9am & 12 noon Closing Ceremony expected no later than 4pm
Time Controls	Primary - All moves in 40 minutes plus 10 seconds increment per move from move 1. Secondary - All moves in 60 minutes plus 10 seconds increment per move from move 1.

A fully catered function will take place on Monday evening (minimum sausages, bread, condiments and selection of 2 salads, dessert and soft drink). This is at no cost to participants.

We know our timing provides a change from past years but we hope the combination of a great venue with affordable on-site accommodation and our willingness to do all we can to make the event run smoothly will provide some compensation. A number of factors came together to make it impossible for us to run the event effectively on a weekend in Canberra at this time of year.

We do anticipate all teams will be able to depart Canberra early on Tuesday evening unless a higher than expected number of states nominate teams for the event. We have brought forward the start times on Tuesday (an early lunch will be required!) to facilitate these early departures.
